It’s the movie you point to when picking out the weak link of the Marvel franchise. This movie gets a lot of hate, perhaps because it’s just so generic within the superhero genre. Ed Norton seems to be phoning it in most of the time and Liv Tyler whispers her lines, I do like Tim Roth’s rendition of The Abomination however.
The first third of the movie feels more like a Bourne movie, and all the better for it. Eventually though the final third devolves into a monster movie fight with what must be a ridiculous amount of collateral damage to the surrounding city. It’s a shame, the failing of this film has ensured no further Hulk outings, which would be far more fun with Mark Ruffalo in the lead. One day perhaps.
