January 22nd 2019: Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is my all time least favourite film, nearly pipped lately by Birdbox, but one look at Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn reminds me of the sheer heartbreaking disappointment this turned out to be. One of the best first trailers a film could have, that didn’t mean I wanted a whole film worth of trailers.

Bad dialogue, bad characters and character development, a bad villain, bad music choices and bad, terrible atrocious editing. I literally left the cinema with a sick taste in my mouth. The joker and Harley Quinn’s relationship was all wrong, losing the essence of what made it so fascinating in every other medium it’s been portrayed. Seriously, what the hell happened with this movie? Killer Croc, Slipknot, Katana? Was that her name? It was a train wreck from beginning to bitter end. If you want a badly written, edited and directed chavvy film, then by all means Suicide Squad should be your cup of cyanide laced tea.
